The ALKU Foundation Story

Amplifying a culture of giving back

ALKU founders Mark and Kathie Eldridge established the ALKU Foundation in 2022 to take their passion for giving back to the community to the next level. From ALKU’s beginning, the culture of giving back has been baked into the company’s values and is driven by employee engagement around community partnerships and volunteer opportunities.

ALKU’s growth has been fueled by hiring entry-level people and mentoring them to success. This experience coupled with Mark’s involvement with Mass Mentoring–a statewide organization dedicated to mentoring and youth-serving initiatives across Massachusetts–has given him visibility into the impact that role models and mentoring can make in a young person’s life. These observations inspired the beginnings of this foundation.

Who we are

Meet our team

Mark and Kathie’s children, Maddie and John, joined this family initiative and serve on the foundation's board of trustees supporting the vision of creating healthy communities and promoting positive change in the lives of young people. Vanessa is thrilled to join the Foundation as its first leader, building community partnerships and contributing to the communities where our employees live and work.

The ALKU Connection

Partnering to enhance our impact

The ALKU Foundation works closely with the employees of ALKU–the ALKrew–to identify nonprofits where we can dedicate time and resources. The Foundation engages ALKU’s corporate giving back program team to deepen our impact when our partners might benefit from employee engagement or volunteer opportunities.

The ALKU Scholarship is funded by the Eldridge Family via the ALKU Foundation.
